Australian Marine Complex

The Australian Marine Complex (AMC) Technology Precinct is a Western Australian Government initiative designed to foster innovation, entrepreneurship and growth within the marine, defence, oil and gas technology sectors.

The AMC is dedicated to strategic innovation and enterprise with its Technology Precinct destined to become the leading centre for innovative technology development; research and education across these industries.

Technology-driven organisations based within the Technology Precinct will benefit from locating with like minded science; technology and innovation specialists, and leveraging the specialist skills and capabilities within the wider AMC.

The new $11 million Central Services Facility (CSF) will be the core meeting and networking point for marine; defence oil and gas organisations within and external to the AMC, and will be open in mid 2008.

This state of the art CSF building comprises function and meeting room hire facilities; an innovation support environment for emerging technology companies; tenancy options; as well as a tavern and café.

Being the central meeting place that assists in the formation of strategic relationships, the CSF will bring together the science and technology community with relevant industry players.

The CSF will play a major role in the provision of business development support services for early stage innovators involved in the marine; defence; oil and gas technology sector.

MNC defence technology company Raytheon Australia is the anchor tenant of the Technology Precinct. This purpose-built headquarters is Raytheon’s primary facility for naval systems software design and engineering in Australia.

The Technology Precinct is now also home to the $21 million Australian Centre for Energy and Process Training (ACEPT) facility, a leading provider of process operations training. Offering recognised qualifications for the oil and gas, mineral and chemical processing industries, ACEPT will play a vital role in supplying skilled workers for Australian and international businesses in the marine and resources sectors.

The Technology Precinct will help ensure Western Australia’s marine; defence; oil and gas industry stays at the forefront of innovation and technology development.
